Roundtable Discussion.
The future is local. In an uncertain world, the places where we live and work are more important than ever. Local leaders need to be able to tell the story of their place in a way that resonates on the doorstep and on the world stage, and then deliver on those ambitions.
Our Local State We’re In survey highlighted that 94% of council chief executives and leaders in the UK identify place leadership as important. Across cities and regions, local leaders are focusing their efforts on boosting growth, productivity and living standards, and creating vibrant and liveable places that attract people to live, work and thrive. However, leaders are facing barriers in delivering place based strategies.
Drawing on our experience of place-based transformation in the UK and globally, this roundtable will explore questions including:
- What makes a successful place-based strategy?
- How can local leaders take a holistic and inclusive approach to growth?
- How can places create a distinctive experience for residents, visitors, businesses and investors?
